A gentle approach · At your dog’s pace

Discover the techniques I use in dog wellbeing sessions, and hear from people who have shared the experience with their dogs.

Every dog is different. I take time to observe their responses and adapt the session around their comfort, preferences and boundaries.

Techniques I use

A session may bring together somatic techniques, light-touch acupressure and Reiki. We can talk through the approach before your dog’s first visit.

01 / Movement

Somatic techniques

Gentle, slow movements form part of this body-focused approach. I pay attention to your dog’s body language and responses, giving them time and space rather than asking them to stay still.

02 / Light touch

Acupressure

Acupressure uses light touch at selected points on the face and body. I adapt the touch to your dog’s sensitivity and willingness to take part, always respecting their boundaries.

03 / Quiet time

Reiki

Reiki is offered as a gentle complementary wellbeing practice. Depending on your dog’s preferences, I may work with my hands on their body, just above it or at a distance, allowing them to settle nearby or move away.

Dog wellbeing sessions complement veterinary care. They do not replace veterinary assessment or treatment. Please discuss health concerns and changes to medication with your vet.

Comfort comes first

Sessions take place in familiar surroundings and are guided by your dog’s cues. They can take a break, pause for water or choose where to settle.

Before we meet, the Dog Profile Form helps me learn about your dog’s history, routine and needs.

Experiences of My Dog Matters

These are excerpts from the testimonials shared on the original Dog Wellbeing page. They describe individual experiences; each dog’s response will be different.

“The service was thoughtful, gentle, and clearly guided by a deep understanding of dogs as individuals. I felt supported throughout the process and reassured knowing my dog was in such caring, knowledgeable hands.”

From Tess’s testimonial

“Elaine made the session so relaxed, letting him go at his own pace, and he loved it! He came back for more, which says it all.”

From Derek’s testimonial

“I wasn’t sure how he would accept a wellbeing session, but he welcomed Elaine immediately and lay down for her straight away. I think being in his own home also really helped him to relax.”

From Barney’s testimonial

“Normally, Daisy is so anxious she follows me everywhere, but stayed calmly with Elaine downstairs when I left the room. After the session, she was so relaxed, snoring in a deep sleep.”

From Daisy’s testimonial

“Thank you for the sessions. It seems to have improved her digestion as the day after she would go to the toilet sooner.”

From Honey’s testimonial

“Thanks so much Elaine. This has been a wonderful experience for both of us. Paddy is relaxed and I feel great.”

From Paddy’s testimonial

“He absolutely loved the treatment. He was so relaxed even in the first session, which is unusual as he would never normally relax around people he doesn’t know.”
